STRYDE is a community-focused, goal-driven program designed for school leavers and young adults with disability. We help participants build meaningful friendships, develop healthy lifestyle habits, increase independence, gain employment skills, and find a genuine sense of belonging within their community.
-
STRYDE is designed primarily for young NDIS participants, particularly school leavers and young adults looking to build confidence, independence and real-world skills. Whether your goals involve employment, social connection, healthy living or becoming more independent, our programs are tailored to support your journey.
-
Most participants access STRYDE using their Core Supports funding. Depending on your NDIS plan and goals, some activities may also be suitable under Capacity Building funding. If you're unsure, we're happy to discuss your plan and help determine the most appropriate funding option.

STRYDE was founded by Oliver and Jesse, two passionate young professionals with over 13 years of combined experience across education support and disability services. Having worked closely with school leavers and their families, we've seen first-hand the challenges many young people face after finishing school. STRYDE was created to bridge that gap by providing meaningful experiences, genuine mentorship and a supportive community where participants can continue to grow.
-
No two STRYDE days are exactly the same. Our programs are built around engaging, real-world experiences that support participants' goals and interests. Activities may include:
Social outings and community events
Shopping trips and budgeting practice
Beach visits, walks and outdoor adventures
Gym and fitness sessions
Cooking and meal preparation
Gardening and hands-on DIY projects
Independent living and everyday life skills
Café visits and community participation
Every activity is designed to build confidence, independence and social connection while having fun.

Our groups typically range from 2 to 8 participants. Keeping groups small allows us to provide personalised support while creating opportunities for genuine friendships and social connection.
-
STRYDE is proudly community-based. Rather than being limited to one location, our programs take place in a variety of settings including shopping centres, parks, cafés, beaches, fitness facilities and shared learning spaces. We believe the best learning happens by getting out into the community.
-
We believe confidence is built through experience. Our facilitators mentor participants by creating positive, meaningful opportunities to develop everyday skills, make decisions, solve problems, build relationships and achieve personal goals in real-life settings.
-
Absolutely. Employment readiness is embedded throughout many of our activities. Participants develop communication, teamwork, responsibility, time management and problem-solving skills in practical settings. We also plan to introduce dedicated employment workshops focused on resumes, interviews and workplace preparation.
-
Oliver holds a Bachelor of Education (Teaching), while Jesse holds a Certificate III in Education Support. Together, they bring over 13 years of combined experience supporting young people across education and disability services, with a shared passion for helping participants thrive beyond school.
