At STRYDE, we believe every person deserves the opportunity to build confidence, develop independence, and create a meaningful future.
We started STRYDE after seeing a common challenge faced by many young people living with disability. Throughout school, students often have structure, support, and a clear routine. But once school finishes, many are expected to navigate adulthood with far less guidance and opportunity.
As education support professionals and disability support workers, we have seen first-hand how easily young people can lose momentum after leaving school. We created STRYDE to bridge that gap.
Our goal is simple: help young adults build confidence, develop real-world skills, create genuine friendships, and discover opportunities that give them purpose and direction.
Whether that means finding employment, joining a sports club, building social confidence, volunteering, or simply becoming more independent, we believe every step forward matters.
Helping Young Adults Move Forward With Confidence
Our Mission
To empower young adults living with disability to become confident, connected, and valued members of their community through meaningful support, real-world experiences, and genuine relationships.
Meet Oliver
I believe success isn't measured by money or titles, but by what you can do today that you couldn't do yesterday.
My journey into disability support started through education, where I've worked closely with young people as both an Education Support Teacher and support worker. Throughout that time, I noticed a common challenge facing many students after they left school. Once the structure of school was gone, many struggled to find opportunities, build confidence, and stay connected to their community.
That's a big part of why I helped create STRYDE.
I'm passionate about helping young adults discover what they're capable of and supporting them to build confidence through real-world experiences. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing someone achieve something they once thought was out of reach, whether that's joining a gym independently, finding employment, making new friends, or simply feeling more confident in themselves.
My approach to support is personal, relaxed, and genuine. I believe the best support happens when people feel comfortable being themselves and know they have someone in their corner who genuinely believes in them.
Outside of STRYDE, you'll usually find me running marathons, taking photos, cooking, or spending time with family and friends.
Meet Jesse
I believe success isn’t measured by where you stand today, but by the steps you take forward, the confidence you build, and the difference you make in your own life and the lives of others.
I've spent many years working alongside young people living with disabilities through both education support and community-based support roles. During that time, I've had the privilege of building strong relationships with students, participants, and families, many of whom I continue to support long after they've finished school.
What motivates me most is seeing people grow in confidence and achieve things they once thought weren't possible. One of my proudest moments was supporting a young man to secure meaningful employment close to home that he loves doing. Watching the confidence, independence, and sense of purpose that came from that opportunity reminded me exactly why I love this work.
I helped create STRYDE because I wanted to provide more than basic support. I wanted to create opportunities. Opportunities for young adults to build friendships, discover their strengths, develop independence, and feel excited about their future.
I pride myself on being reliable, patient, and genuinely invested in the people I support. I believe meaningful support is built on trust, consistency, and being present in every moment.
Outside of STRYDE, I enjoy playing golf, swimming at the beach and spending time with my friends and family.
What We Believe
We believe meaningful progress starts with trust. Strong relationships create the foundation for confidence, growth, and success.
Connection Before Support
Confidence isn't built sitting on the sidelines. It develops through new experiences, challenges, achievements, and opportunities.
Growth Through Action
Independence With Purpose
Our role isn't to do things for people forever. It's to help people build the skills, confidence, and belief to do more for themselves.
Everyone deserves to feel included, valued, and connected. We help participants find their place within their community and recognise the strengths they have to offer.
